Big News From Whoville

Neil-Cameron-Matt-Smith-new-Doctor-Who-costume

Did the end of Stephen Moffat’s first full season of Doctor Who leave you feeling all warm and awesome inside?  I know that after I finished the season and saw how badass the Pandorica episodes were, I honestly wasn’t sure how it could get any better.  The Pandorica was probably one of the best season closers I’ve seen in a long time.

Good news, Stephen Moffat is going to wow us with an equally amazing season opener.  Amazing is on several levels here as well, especially for us Who fans in the states.

First bit of awesome news…the Doctor is coming to America, and not in the Eddie Murphy sense, for the very first time.

He’s your Doctor-to-be. A Doctor-to-be forever. A Doctor who’ll do whatever his companion desires.

That’s right,  though episodes have been featured in America, they have never been shot on location!  The new season opener is going to be a two-parter set in Utah in the 1960s and features a great cast to accompany.  Michael Gambon and Alex Kingston(River Song) will be joining the time traveling trio as they find themselves on a secret summons that takes them on an adventure from the desert in Utah – right to the Oval Office itself!

AKA Dumbledore 2

According to Moffat:

“The Doctor has visited every weird and wonderful planet you can imagine, so he was bound get round to America eventually! And of course every ‘Doctor Who’ fan will be jumping up and down and saying he’s been in America before. But not for real, not on location – and not with a story like this one! Oh, you wait!”
Next bit of awesome news…this is all to air during the holiday season!  That’s only a few months away, so not much longer to wait!  The new season of Doctor Who is scheduled to air in spring 2011 and the thirteen episodes will be split into two different seasons, allowing for two very different story lines.

Are you as excited about this as I am?

Thanks ComingSoon
